Metrotvnews.com, Jakarta: The Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD) has praised the tax amnesty program in Indonesia.
“I think it is very successful,” said OECD secretary general Angel Guria at the Finance Ministry in Jakarta on Monday (10/24).
He urged Indonesia to continue its tax reforms. He mentioned that Indonesia’s tax-to-GDP ratio is still low.
“People must understand paying taxes is important,” he continued.
Indonesia’s tax-to-GDP ratio is only around 11-12 percent. Meanwhile, The average tax-to-GDP ratio in OECD countries is around 34 percent.
