TEMPO.CO, Jakarta – The government is expecting Indonesia`s economic growth to exceed 6% in 2018, a significant jump from its economic growth assumption for 2016-2017 of around 5-5.2%.

Speaking in a plenary cabinet meeting at the State Palace on Wednesday, President Joko Widodo said the target might be difficult to achive but is still hopeful.

“It is imperative to achive investment growth of over 10%. As for supporting factors, consumption must grow above 5%, export must grow above 4%. Import must grow by at least 2-3%,” the President said before his cabinet members.
